What do you consider as measures of professionalism? The devoted team at SLAP! Car Audio are more experienced and successful than most in the business. The owner, Karl Warren, worked in the industry for 12 years before starting SLAP! Between the three employees that work at the humble Basin Reserve workshop, there’s well over 20 years of playing with cars, making them louder and faster.
In its 6th year now, SLAP! Can boast more success at both AutoSalon and 2Hot2Handle car shows than any other Wellington business. Ever. They've made their way up through the industry from a tiny garage by Wellington Zoo to a 480sq metre premise with a massive showroom and a workshop with the capacity to hold up to 8 cars at once.
Speaker pairs range from $30 all the way up to $17,000. They can cater for everyone, whether it’s a family-moving Mazda Bongo or Toyota Previa, to an C-Class AMG Mercedes Benz or 7 Series BMW. Not a problem for the SLAP! team.
Full interior refabrication, competition grade sound systems, top of the line alarms, nitrous oxide systems, engine detailing, airbrushing, fibre glassing, body kits, tinting, mag wheels and performance accessories make up most of the work that they do. But there’s still more. They can turn a bare shell into a show winner for anyone with the right attitude.
They’ve built and worked on some of the most popular cars in the country since the car show scene got popular around the year 2001. AutoSalon award-winning show favourites SOLTKR, NFORCA, DRJKYL, UKG1RL, REXTC, BUNY, BLAZD, VLOCIT, SKNKHO, and the list goes on and on… Their cars have even graced the cover of the most-purchased automotive read in our land; New Zealand Performance Car Magazine.
They stock brands like Pioneer, JVC and Panasonic for general consumers, but for connoisseurs they have world-record winning brands like DLS, Digital Designs, Rainbow and eAudio, from as far away as Sweden & the United States of America.
